Ability to Find My Mac is Available for Developers

Ability to Find My Mac has been available to developers participating in the beta service Apple iCloud. Find MyMac has been officially added to the Lion Developer Preview4, released in June after the WWDC. Although evidence of the existence of opportunities have emerged even before the release.

Find My Mac is very similar to the Find My iPhone. But due to the fact that the Mac is not GPS, to locate the computer is likely to use Wi-Fi network and nearby Wi-Fi.

Finding a lost Mac, users can send a message to remotely lock the screen or even to erase all information from the disk. The public launch of Find My Mac, will likely take place this autumn with the launch of iCloud.
